County guide

Flintshire

Flintshire has the least published information in North East Wales. Gwella (formerly Aura Wales) runs the 3G pitches at Deeside Leisure Centre, and Connah's Quay Nomads FC runs The Quay 3G. Neither publishes prices.

Grass pitches: how to book with the council

Many council grass pitches are allocated to clubs for the season; this is the council booking route, not live availability.

We couldn’t find a published way to book this council’s grass pitches. Many are run by town and community councils or leased to clubs. Know how? Tell us.

Good to know

  • Operator: news items from 2020 call the operator Aura Wales. Its current site is gwella.wales, and its website could not be read automatically, so confirm details by phone.
  • Deeside: a June 2026 Flintshire football plan names Deeside Leisure Centre as a priority site for a new 3G pitch.
  • The Quay: a 2015 plan said the pitches would be available for community use, and the school uses them every school day.
  • Other 3G pitches: the same plan lists full-size 3G pitches at Broughton FC, Connah's Quay Sports Centre, Holywell High School and Flint Town United, but no hire pages were found.
  • Enquiries: Gwella general enquiries are on 01352 702430 (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).
