County guide

Ceredigion

Ceredigion has few bookable artificial pitches and none of them publishes a price. Aberystwyth Town FC's 3G is the only one with online booking, so for everything else phone or email first.

Grass pitches: how to book with the council

Many council grass pitches are allocated to clubs for the season; this is the council booking route, not live availability.

We couldn’t find a published way to book this council’s grass pitches. Many are run by town and community councils or leased to clubs. Know how? Tell us.

    Good to know

    • Aberystwyth Town FC: the club bans metal screw-in studs, blades, trainers and astro boots, so check the footwear rules before you book.
    • Aberystwyth University: warm-ups on the pitch need a separate booking, and the terms are in a PDF on the 3G page. Pages disagree on whether an older astro pitch still exists, and two phone numbers are published (01970 622280 for the Sports Centre, 01970 622900 for the university).
    • Lampeter: the council lists a 2G pitch only as "Lampeter". It is matched to the leisure centre from a listing, so call the centre on 01570 422552, not the marketplace number.
    • Cardigan and Synod Inn: the council lists both as 3G pitches with planned upgrades, but sources give no site or booking route. Ask Ceredigion County Council which site it is and who takes bookings.
    • Prices: none is published for any Ceredigion pitch. Ask for the rate and whether floodlights cost extra.
